Cisco EWDM-OA DWDM Booster EWDM Optical Amplifier; Integrates 10GB Connection over 1GB CWDM Networks. Dual fiber is used for both the network and the transciever connections. The booster amplifier boosts the signal power encreasing maximum distance for the 10 GB Ethernet connection, Monitor Port that allows to monitor amplifier conditions and adjust settings.

The DWDM Booster Amplifier (EWDM-OA=) integrates a 10-GB connection over 1-GB CWDM networks without sacrificing the reach of these networks, and compensates for the power budget gap between the 10-GB DWDM pluggable transceivers and the low speed 1-GB GBIC/SFP. Dual fiber is used for both the network and the transciever connections.
