The MA5811S is an outdoor small form factor-sealed unit (SFF-SU) multi-service access product launched by Huawei to support integrated broadband access.
The MA5811S with an IP protection level of IP68 can be used in fiber to the building (FTTB) or fiber to the curb (FTTC) scenarios. It can be installed in a manhole or mounted to a concrete wall. The MA5811S is temperature-hardened and waterproof. Therefore, it can work properly in harsh environments.
The MA5811S is small in size and simple to deploy. Deploying an MA5811S is more cost-effective than deploying an outdoor cabinet and its fittings based on providing the same functions, thereby significantly reducing carriers' capital expenditure (CAPEX).
In the downstream direction, the MA5811S provides the access service for G.fast users.
In the upstream direction, the MA5811S connects to an IP network using GE optical ports.
The MA5811S supports various installation scenarios and can be quickly installed indoor and outdoor.

Broadband Rate Increasing Using Vectoring
G.fast uses the time division duplex (TDD) technology to reduce radiation interference and energy loss. By working with vectoring, G.fast enables the MA5811S to provide a high access rate rivaling even that of optical fibers. It uses existing copper lines to rapidly deploy services and turn investments into returns.
Being compatible with VDSL2, G.fast meets the requirement of live-network users for smooth technology upgrade.
Carrier-Class Hardware Design
The optimal hardware design ensures reliable device running and smooth service provisioning.
The hardware design of the MA5811S complies with carrier-class reliability.
The MA5811S can work at a wide temperature range from -40°C to +65°C and pass various environment adaptability, temperature, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) tests.

Cable Customization
Subscriber cables can be customized. The subscriber cable connected to a waterproof connector can be used in waterproof scenarios.

Simple Deployment and Maintenance
Various maintenance methods facilitate network fault locating, improve fault diagnosis efficiency, and reduce O&M costs. The MA5811S:
Is plug and play and supports offline deployment. Hardware installation engineers can deploy the MA5811S after visiting the site only once.
Supports PPPoE dialup emulation, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) dialup emulation, and multicast service emulation, multicast service emulation, and built-in metallic line testing (MELT) without external test assistance.
Supports bypass for simple service provisioning and device maintenance.
Supports remote software commissioning. The MA5811S does not support onsite maintenance by opening the cover if it is installed in a manhole. The remote software commissioning resolves such onsite maintenance issues.
